mingbeast create experimental performance that combines theatre, live art and stand-up. We are interested in artifice, botched illusion, the therapeutic, violence, translation, gender, the contest and allowing things to really get out of control - if only for a moment. The work we make is very playful, often chaotic and yet highly detailed and an exploration of how we live now and how we go about coping with it all. Our performances mix live moments, sometimes structured by rules and sometimes not, with rehearsed material, creating spaces through our work in which something can happen between the material, the performers and the audience. We regularly collaborate with other artists through research, practice and discussion. We are based in London, performing and developing work in the UK, Spain and France.
